I just got off the phone with my mom. It seems I forgot a very important anniversary today. Today marks 19 years since they took the yucky cancer from her body. 19 years clean. For someone who has had malignant melanoma this is huge.
I remember that day like it was yesterday and I'm happy that 19 years later she has been around for my most important memories. Love you mom ;)
I don't have much time to write tonight, I've been a busy girl packing for the weekend. A weekend I have dreamed about since I started scrapbooking and heard every other scrapbooker in the Ottawa area talk about...a NAVCAN weekend. I cannot believe that I will FINALLY lose my NAVCAN (in my head I said Afghan what is that all about????) virginity!
Denis just finished helping me pack up the Jeep and as he looked at my stuff at the front door he said "good thing you are going alone eh?" The Jeep is pretty full. I don't know how I managed to do so but I packed up nearly my entire scrapbooking room into a series of totes and bags and boxes and more bags and more totes and boxes. Then there is the cooler and my duffle bag with enough clothing to last at least 6 weeks (even though I'm only going for two nights). I think I can quite accurately predict that I will use somewhere in the neighbourhood of less than 10% of what I'm taking...but you know what? I don't care!
I'M GOING TO NAVCAN!!!
And I'm going with a group of ladies I've never met (when I told my mom that she said "well dear, that's never been a problem for you before" - she knows me well my mom).
I need to try and break my 1 page record from the last "scrapbooking" weekend I went on with Chris and Cawi.
Then again, I'm taking Rockstar so that might be hard.
If you want to see where I'm headed, check this out
NAVCAN
It may not be the Ritz but it just doesn't matter. I get to spend the weekend scrapbooking with the Lady Bugs and the Ya yas and new friends all around.
Life is good
Well, I best jump into the tub...
'night lovelies and have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Laurie
I hope you are having a wonderful time at NavCan. The Ritz, it defintely isnt but the times can't get any better. It was a pleasure meeting you for more than a few brief moments and finding time to talk.
Take care
